Tierra Wilson (Tee), Business Consultant for service-based business owners

hello

About Tee.

Business Consultant for Service-Based Business Owners, Coaches & Consultants

I'm Tierra Wilson. Most people call me Tee. I've been self-employed for 15 years. Never had to get a job. I've worked with MyFitnessPal, Under Armour, Google, GoDaddy, Hewlett-Packard, and 500+ clients across every type of service-based business you can think of. I designed the pitch deck for a $475 million acquisition. I raised $1 million in grant funding before I was 25. I built a multi-six-figure agency while raising a kid as a widow in a city where I knew no one.

I've spent 15 years in the trenches building service-based businesses and now I teach everything I know. How to find clients and keep them. How to price with confidence, sell without being weird about it, and set up the operations so you can actually breathe. I've seen what works across 500+ businesses and I bring all of that into every conversation.

If you want someone who tells you the truth in a way that makes you actually want to listen, we'll get along just fine.

The origin story

How I got here

I started as a branding and web designer. I was good at the work and terrible at running the business. My first $10,000 client felt like I had made it. Then I did the math. Three months of work. That was $3,000 a month. And when the project ended, I had zero clients lined up. I spent the next month scrambling to find work, and then the cycle started all over again.

feast, famine, feast, famine. for years.

The turning point was when I stopped thinking of myself as a creative and started thinking of myself as a business owner. I stopped designing websites and started building the sales systems, the marketing strategy, the client onboarding, the operations that made the business actually run. I became the conductor instead of the person playing every instrument.

Everything I teach now came from that shift. I figured most of it out on my own because the business advice out there wasn't built for service providers. Traditional business strategies don't account for the fact that service-based business owners carry double the responsibility. You're running the business AND delivering the work. Most advice assumes you only have to do one of those things. That disconnect is what burns people out.

So I built my own systems. Custom made, tested on real clients, adjusted over years until they actually worked the way I needed them to. And then I started teaching them to other people.

Today

What I do now

I consult with service-based business owners who are stuck in the feast-or-famine cycle, overwhelmed by their own client work, or just ready to grow and have no idea where to start with the operations side. I focus on sales and marketing strategy, business systems, client onboarding, offer structure, and pricing.

I've worked with over 500 clients doing this work and I've seen the same patterns play out hundreds of times. The business owners who build systems, prioritize sales and marketing, and learn to conduct instead of execute are the ones who make it. The ones who keep doing everything themselves burn out.

Right now I work with people in a few different ways.

Off the clock

Outside of work

When I'm not consulting, I'm usually somewhere eating. I've visited every borough in New York for the food. I've eaten my way through Barcelona, Mallorca, Oakland, and all across the South. The best meal I've ever had was in Oakland, and I will talk about it if you let me.

I document everything. Cities, hidden spots, hole-in-the-wall restaurants, the places locals actually go. Over 5 million photo views on Google Local. Travel and food are my thing.

I live in Pittsburgh now with my son Bryant (everybody calls him Monster). We're figuring out the city together.
